Qualitative Research

The HSM Group has coordinated and conducted thousands of focus group sessions and one-on-one interviews both in person and on the telephone with health care business professionals, employers, clinicians, and consumers.

Research design

We thoughtfully design guides that yield insights and inform key decisions. We often use a hybrid Internet/IDI approach we've perfected that results in more valuable outcomes than either individual methodology provides.

Recruitment

Our recruiting staff excels at obtaining participation from tough-to-reach audiences. We leverage our own databases of stakeholders and decision-makers in a variety of organizations, cultivated over the course of many projects, and we partner with other organizations as necessary to supplement HSM's in-house contacts.

Access to Key Audiences

HSM maintains robust databases of health plan and PBM decision-makers, clinical and administrative leaders of integrated health systems and large medical groups, and compensation and benefits executives in medium, large, and jumbo employer organizations. We regularly work with our panel partners for other targeted audiences such as consumers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Fielding

Our interviewers and moderators are senior staff with 10+ years of industry experience. We are conversant in both the clinical and business sides of health care. We are often complimented on our depth of understanding and interviewing skills by clients and research participants.

By starting with solid research design, overlaying our industry knowledge and experience, HSM can distill research learnings into a well-written, actionable, presentation ready report.
